Inherent quality is what you strive to have something consist of and how you go about ensuring such. Simply stated it is joy associated with a mindset that seeks to embed value and excellence within people, processes and products. Essential for C level executives to understand and support, it helps to improve effectiveness and efficiency by further unlocking true continuous improvement potential and further enabling simplicity and increasing achievement which is far reaching. Making quality progressively more inherent or occur more inherently is key to proactively: managing inherent risk; solving for testing and other strategic and tactical matters; ensuring means exist to more innately optimize value and excellence as well as compliance to numerous regulations and prominent icons for quality. Furthermore evolving quality to be more so in-built helps to convert costs into increasing savings and positive ROI. The audience for inherent quality initiatives is software, technology and information professionals, mentors and students (at all levels and in all roles). The audience however also includes all who interface with the noted individuals and related teams. Inherent quality is largely derived from a common foundation and largely enhanced by collaboration. Fully matured it is intrinsic and pervasive. The inherent ideals advocate a better balance in and external to the quality organization; and the inherent initiatives enable you to better identify and improve upon the quality and qualities of your organization's value and excellence journey. By 2020 will a large number of the millions of tech savvy power consumers of software, technology and information (e.g. many of the 70+ million bloggers or many of those now living second lives) join the field and be part of the solution being advocated by CIPS (i.e. their I.S.P. designation and linkages with organizations like BCS and ifip)? By 2020 will advocates of one of the many other organizations (e.g. SEI, ACM, PMI and so on at length) publicly comment on how their organization is helping or can help to ensure quality inherently associated with the profession (or related professions)? In the 21st Century there are many organizations around the globe that are concerned with the IT profession or in general with quality in one respect or another. By 2020 perhaps your product, program or organization (e.g. MIT IQ, idirect) will be a significant contributor to evolving global IT quality, value, excellence and simplicity. As an example, the word quality is not mentioned in this whitepaper, 'The Clustered Storage Revolution: Defining the Paradigm Shift to Clustered Storage' (found if you dig through storagedecisions.com and otherwise as associated with isilon.com), however the wording throughout may help to make significant contributions if creatively applied and embedded within the fields, processes, products and people of software, technology and information.
